FAQ
Questions, answered honestly.
General
What does Serpevo do?
Serpevo is a UK-based website and SEO company. We design and build fast, search-ready websites and run SEO programmes covering technical SEO, content, local SEO, digital PR and AI search visibility for businesses in the United Kingdom, the United States and Türkiye.
How much does SEO cost?
Our monthly SEO retainers start from £950 per month for local businesses. Growth and multi-market programmes typically range from £2,200 to £4,500+ per month. One-off audits and website builds are priced per project.
How long until we see results?
Technical improvements and quick wins often show within 6–12 weeks. Sustainable growth from content and authority usually becomes clear between months 4 and 9.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings on Google. We guarantee transparency, agreed KPIs, senior attention and a clear plan, and we report honestly against them.
Can we see client results or speak to references?
We keep our clients’ names and results confidential, so we don’t publish them on our website. On a call we can walk you through relevant examples and, with our clients’ permission, introduce you to references.
Do you work with businesses outside the UK?
Yes. We work with clients in the United Kingdom, the United States and Türkiye, and help businesses expand between these markets.
Do you offer SEO in Turkish?
Yes. We have Turkish-speaking strategists and native Turkish writers, and the whole site and service is available in Turkish.
Is there a long-term contract?
SEO retainers begin with a six-month term, then continue month to month. Project work such as audits and websites is fixed-scope.
Do you optimise for ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
Yes. AI search optimisation (GEO) is part of our Growth and Scale programmes and available as a standalone service. We measure your brand’s citations across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot.
SEO Strategy & Management
How long does SEO take to show results?
Technical fixes and quick wins usually show within 6–12 weeks. Compounding growth from content and authority typically becomes clear between months 4 and 9, depending on competition and your starting point.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google’s algorithm. We commit to a transparent plan, agreed KPIs and honest reporting on progress against them.
Is there a minimum contract?
Retainers start with a six-month term because SEO compounds over time. After that, engagements move to a rolling monthly agreement.
Who owns the accounts and the work?
You do. Search Console, analytics, content and every deliverable belong to you, and we work inside your accounts.
Technical SEO
Do you implement fixes or just recommend them?
Both. We can hand over detailed tickets to your developers, or our own engineers can implement changes directly on most platforms and frameworks.
How early should we involve you in a migration?
Ideally 8–12 weeks before launch. That leaves time to map redirects, test staging and catch problems before they cost you traffic.
Which platforms do you work with?
WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow, Magento, headless CMSs and custom builds in Next.js, Nuxt, Astro and more.
Local SEO
Can you help if our Business Profile was suspended?
Yes. We diagnose the cause, correct the guideline issue and handle reinstatement requests, then put safeguards in place to prevent repeat suspensions.
Do we need a page for every location?
For multi-location businesses, yes. Each location page should be unique and genuinely useful, with local details, staff, reviews and directions, not a template with the city name swapped.
Do you buy reviews?
Never. Fake reviews break Google’s policies and UK and US consumer law. We build compliant systems that make it easy for real customers to leave feedback.
E-commerce SEO
Can SEO really compete with Amazon and marketplaces?
Yes, for many queries. Google rewards specialist retailers with strong category pages, expert content and good user experience, especially for mid and long-tail searches.
Do you write product descriptions?
We create templates and style guides, write priority products ourselves and set up scalable processes, including carefully edited AI-assisted workflows for large catalogues.
Which e-commerce platform is best for SEO?
Any major platform can rank well when it’s configured properly. We’ll tell you honestly where your platform’s limits are and how to work around them.
Content Strategy & On-page SEO
Do you use AI to write content?
We use AI for research and drafting support where it helps, but every piece is shaped, written and fact-checked by humans with real expertise. Mass-produced AI content is a ranking risk, not a strategy.
Can you write in Turkish and English?
Yes. We work with native writers in British English, American English and Turkish, and we localise content rather than simply translating it.
How many articles do we need per month?
Fewer than you think. Two excellent, well-targeted pieces usually beat ten generic ones. We plan volume around your competition and goals.
Digital PR & Link Building
Do you sell links or guest posts?
No. Paid links violate Google’s spam policies and put your site at risk. Every link we build is earned editorially.
How many links will we get each month?
We focus on quality and relevance, not quotas. One link from a respected industry publication is worth more than dozens from irrelevant sites.
Can you get coverage in Turkish media?
Yes. We run campaigns in English and Turkish and maintain media relationships in all three of our markets.
AI Search Optimisation (GEO)
Is GEO different from SEO?
It builds on the same foundations: crawlability, quality content, authority. But it adds a focus on being quoted rather than just ranked, on entity clarity and on off-site mentions. The best results come from doing both together.
Should we block AI crawlers?
It depends on your business model. Publishers may want to restrict training crawlers; most brands benefit from allowing search-oriented AI crawlers. We’ll help you make a deliberate choice.
Do we need an llms.txt file?
It’s optional. No major AI search engine currently relies on it, and Google has said it doesn’t use it. We may add one as a low-cost extra, but it isn’t a ranking factor.
International SEO
Do we need separate sites for the UK and US?
Not necessarily. If your offer, pricing or regulation differs, separate en-GB and en-US versions with hreflang usually work best. If not, one English version may be enough. We decide based on evidence.
Can you help a Turkish company sell in the UK or US?
Yes. This is one of our specialities. We combine UK-based strategy with Turkish-speaking account management.
Is machine translation good enough?
It’s a starting point at best. Search behaviour, terminology and trust signals differ by market, so pages need proper localisation to compete.
SEO-led Web Design & Development
How long does a new website take?
Typically 6–10 weeks for a marketing site and 10–16 weeks for e-commerce or complex builds, from discovery to launch.
Which platform will you use?
The one that fits your team and goals. If marketing needs to edit freely, Webflow or WordPress. For maximum performance and flexibility, a headless or Astro/Next.js build.
Will we lose rankings when we switch?
Not if the migration is done properly. Redirect mapping, content parity and launch monitoring are built into every project.
